Mumbai: Actor Tanushree Dutta, who had accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment in 2018, on Thursday said she heard the news about the veteran star's death and expresses her condolences to his family.
Patekar died in the early hours of Thursday after suffering a heart attack. The 75-year-old was found unconscious at his Goa apartment and was taken to a private hospital where he was declared dead.
In a video posted on her Instagram Stories, Dutta said she got to know about Patekar's demise but will give a reaction once "I figure out what kind of reaction I should have".
"I have heard the news. I just... today is my workday. I am going to Lucknow for an event. And I want to focus on that. What an odd day for all this to happen. Because I’m doing a very big event in Lucknow, and it was pretty important for me," said the actor, known for movies such as ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ and ‘Chocolate’.
"I had my entire day planned out. I wanted to do all these lives and post content. And now I’m worried that in the evening, that’s all the media is going to be interested in is evil dead. So, I will give my reaction once I figure out what kind of reaction I should have. So, definitely condolences to the family" she added.
In 2018, Dutta had alleged that Patekar sexually harassed on the sets of their 2009 film ‘Horn 'Ok' Pleassss’. The allegation led to the start of India's #MeToo movement.
An FIR was registered against the actor, who consistently denied the allegations. The case was later closed due to insufficient evidence.
